Our Gold Award!!

This is a photo of Jim and I receiving our Green Tourism Business Scheme award. The GTBS are the national sustainable tourism scheme for the UK. We were thrilled to bits to get Gold. We have always thought of ourselves as environmentally aware, but joining GTBS has meant making a committment, and really looking at all aspects of our business, and we still can find areas for improving our sustainability and encouraging others.
This actually took place at Samelsbury Hall at the beginning of April, but I'm a bit behind with news as I broke my wrist on 23rd March!
At the same time RSPB Leighton Moss  received their Gold award.

Local Birds!

Had a wonderful party of 14 birdwatchers in this weekend from Bristol Ornithological Club, they were very fortunate with weather and spent some of  their time walking along the edge of the bay adjacent to The Craigwell to Hest Bank. They saw great Crested Grebes, Eiders, Red-breasted Mergansers, Goldeneye, Scaup, and a mix of gulls and waders including a Mediterranean Gull, Curlews, Oystercatchers, Redshank, Knot, Bar-tailed and  Black-tailed Godwits,  Dunlin, all being watched by a Peregrine.

Our stunning new premium room

We've just finished refurbishing room 11 on the 3rd floor - our best yet!

It's best described as a sea view suite - very spacious, with windows
giving expansive views over Morecambe Bay.

There's a sparkly white-tiled en-suite with shower which leads off  the bedroom. You enter through a vestibule area with walk-in wardrobe, this leads into the seating area by the windows and through to the main bedroom.  There is a double bed and a single bed so this room can be sold as a twin, double or family. If you 'd like to stay here visit our website . You can book by phone, email or online.
